I have been a photographer for over 21 years. It hasn't been my main source of income, but I have pursued it passionately while working a regular job over the years. I became interested in photography back in 1988 when I was attending Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. I needed 3 more credit hours in order to keep my Scholarship in Music and Theater. I thought, hmmm, what would be an easy class & only one night a week.

     I discovered that Photography offered that. I went to class the first night, and found myself hooked. My photographic Professor, was Terry Kalp. He was awesome. He really made learning fun. The most important thing I learned from him was to keep learning on my own. Search out materials, people and just do a lot of shooting. I photographed anyone or anything I could get in front of my camera. I've been doing it ever since.

     I have photographed, Weddings, Seniors, Families, Models, Children, Landscapes, Commercial Projects, Night Photography and Special Effects. I shoot with a Nikon D-50 Digital Camera. Prior to switching to Digital Photography, I used Contax cameras with Carl Zeiss Lenses. I miss shooting with my film camera, but I love what I can do with digital photography. I highly recommend switching if you haven't done it yet.

     I started working with other Photographers a few years ago to pass along what I know. I enjoy teaching the art of Photography and seeing the light click on in an individuals head. I took a break for a few years to focus on some other things, but now I am ready to start teaching again. If you would like to be able to take photos like the ones you see on this site, I would be glad to help you get started.  I offer one-on-one training as well as group training.
